Just in time for the beginning of autumn, COVID-19 reaches New Zealand.
So, I spent the last few weeks quarantined in Akaroa, a cozy town on the Banks Peninsula near Christchurch.
While the pandemic hadn't reached New Zealand yet,
I took my time exploring large alpine lakes in the central South Island of New Zealand.
On New Zealand's West Coast it is almost impossible to get bored:
rough waves, glaciers, horse races, and weird food...
Next, I went to the northernmost bits of the South Island of New Zealand.
Beautiful beaches, lots of sunshine and peanut overdose.
To get my bank account into an acceptable condition for the rest of my journey through New Zealand,
I stayed in Blenheim for six weeks, opening mussels at a factory and enjoying life at Leeway's Backpackers.
I also went to see some whales near Kaikoura!
